We are looking for Solutions Architect to act as overall technical lead for all aspects of the Parliamentary HR & Finance ICT Programme. The post holder will take the technical lead and responsibility for designing strategic ICT solutions to support HR and Finance functions within the House of Commons service.
Candidates should have proven successful experience of technical leadership on a large or complex project or programme, excellent communication skills with the ability to work with a range of people of varying technical knowledge, and knowledge of Agresso Business World including Agresso Web / Self-service.
Experience and skills relevant to the job:
- Proven successful experience of technical leadership on a large or complex project or programme.
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to work with a range of people of varying technical knowledge, often explaining complex concepts to colleagues and business users / stakeholders of the HR & Finance programme across departments of the House of Commons service. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
- Demonstrates innovative and creative thinking, showing attention to detail. Demonstrable ability to produce clear documentation, designs and specifications.
- Experience of HR & Finance / ERP Systems with a good understanding of their various capabilities, strengths and weaknesses and the considerations in implementing and managing them.
- Knowledge of tools and approaches for management information reporting, their relative strengths and weaknesses and their application in a complex business environment.
- Substantial experience of dealing with technology suppliers.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, able to maintain strategic perspective while undertaking complex and detailed work, with proven ability to deliver results within agreed timescales and to work within tight timeframes.
- Strong appreciation of IT security and ability to quantify risk.
- Strong awareness of impact of technology choices on support requirements.
