Project Manager Work in UK Qualification:
Chartered Building Surveyor RICS or equivalent. Preferably Prince2 certified
Required Project Manager Experience:
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Client side Project Management
- Local authority procurement procedures & EU thresholds
- Working on corporate buildings and schools
- Experience working on educational buildings and working with Head Teachers, School Governors and senior Council officials.
- Working knowledge of NBS Scheduler
Essential Skills for a Project Manager:
- Contract Administration on complex & multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- IT skills
- Desirable CAD skills useful but not essential (CAD support available)
- In depth knowledge of Building legislation
Area of Work:
Schools and public buildings.
Type of Work:
Capital projects with value from £20k- £3.5million.
Refurbishments, DDA improvements. fire precaution works
Reports, feasibilities, Project Programmes
The function of a Project Manager should include the following:
- The project manager should be able to act as Contract Administrator including liaising with client and agreeing brief.
- Surveying, specifying works
- Preparing schedule of works
- Overseeing works on site including
- Supervising COW and instructing contractor.
- General building survey work including taking of Client’s initial brief and preparing feasibility costs.
- Preparing feasibilities and formulating reports.
- Overseeing functions of internal surveying staff and external
Car:
Use of car essential.
Mobility:
Able to climb ladders.
